Yogoman Burning Band is fresh out of the box and cooking with booty shaking beats on their new live album Four Piece Chicken Dinner!
This is the final, live album cut with all four original members of Yogoman Burning Band at Boundary Bay Brewery in Bellingham, WA, July of 2011. YBB is parading their new disc down the west coast, debuting their fresh new line up: Amanda Rhine (Sax), Nelson Bell (Trombone and Sousaphone), original member Mars Lindgren (Trombone), and band leader Jordan Rain/Yogoman's father, Michael Rain (bass and vocals).
Four Piece Chicken Dinner is the exciting follow-up to previous releases, Beam Me Up, City of Subdued Excitement and Self Titled Album. Yogoman Burning Band (YBB) continues with an upbeat blend of sounds ranging from R&B and Soul through Ska, Reggae, and New Orleans Brass. YBB plays vibrant music showcasing the lineage of big band jazz to punk/hardcore shout outs, while snappy brass and harmony vocals build the framework around their strong drum and bass foundation.
The Bellingham Herald described YBB as having “an irresistible vibe that gets just about anyone in the audience on their feet dancing. It’s a bit of reggae, a bit of soul and a lot of attitude; a mix of catchy bass lines, vibrant brass and a groove held up by Yogoman himself on drums.”
YBB has toured with Iron and Wine, collaborated live with Pato Banton, Blue Scholars, Winstrong, while sharing the stage with Clinton Fearon (of the Gladiators), RJD2, the Cave Singers, Helio Sequence, Dengue Fever, Orgone and are set to play with Jamaica’s legendary Skatalites April 23rd. Spring Chicken tour leads into summer festivals and an official national tour slated for Fall 2012.
