ABOUT YOGOMAN

Band Leader/Conductor/Songwriter Jordan Rain/YOGOMAN is a world class drummer and highly dynamic singer who leads his band from the drum kit.  Rain formed YOGOMAN Burning Band in 2005 to bring musical sunshine to his often rainy Pacific Northwest region by way of his original mix of Jamaican and New Orleans Dance Riddims.  YOGOMAN Burning Band engages and compels audiences to get up and dance with shout outs, sing a longs, and call and response lyrics, bringing to mind artists such as Toots & The Maytals, Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Cab Calloway, Bob Marley, James Brown and the Meters. YOGOMAN's music removes the barriers between audience, entertainers and the industry, making it a community party.

Aiming to connect with people of all-ages and backgrounds through vibrant dance music, Rain is building off the rhythmic foundation of his favorite music from around the globe coupled with his innate sense of harmony.  From beats to melodies to lyrics, Rain communicates primarily with energy and intuition along with his voice and cues from the drum set to the YOGOMAN Burning Band players and audience simultaneously, making each performance a new experience.

YOGOMAN Burning Band travels widely to play festivals, private parties, weddings and anywhere a celebration is needed.  YOGOMAN Burning Band is internationally recognized for a ridiculously fun and top quality musical experience.  Rain's aim is to travel to as many places as he can with YOGOMAN Burning Band, spreading as much love and community through music as possible in his life, with his family and friends.

PLAYERS

YOGOMAN BURNING BAND Selects from our lineage of bandmates depending on the needs of any performance or event. We can provide a lively dance band from a small combo of 5 up to 10 players on stage with horns, but it all stems from the family combo who sing lush harmonies together and provide the foundation of the Yogoman sound - Yogoman, Bongo Jac and their son Buck Rain.

Jordan Rain/Yogoman

Raised in the Jet City, Rain came up through Seattle's underground music scene in the 1990', and started performing in the Northwest in 1993. Rain toured nationally in the Underground/All-Ages music scene before forming this original dance band in 2005.  As a family man, Rain tours with his wife Jacqueline "Bongo Jac" Rain who sings and plays percussion in the band, while occasionally featuring their musically talented children.  Rain also spins as DJ YOGOMAN, and performs on guitar with his wife and son in a live combo as Yogoman & Bongo Jac for occasions that call for a more intimate combo or family vibe.

Jacqueline was raised in East Texas bayou country in Linden, a very small town home of the famous blues guitarist/singer T-Bone Walker and Don Henley of the Eagles. In Linden, Jac got her start singing blues, roots country, gospel music and on the playground chanting double dutch rhythms. As a coloratura Soprano, Jac sang and studied Opera in New York City, Seattle and Europe. After a major car accident which left her with a complex disability, Jac sought out roots music as therapy and was advised to play percussion by her brain doctor.  She met Jordan Rain/DJ YOGOMAN spinning vinyl records at his Soul Night at the Green Frog in Bellingham, WA, where they fell in love. YOGOMAN caught her singing jazz standards with a remarkable voice and asked her to join the band. They are now happily married and tour with their young son Buck Rain who is constantly immersed in music.

Buck Rain - Melodica, Harmonica, Xylophone, Vocals

Yogoman & Bongo Jac’s son Buck Rain is a multi instrumentalist and vocalist with YBB officially since 2021. Watching Buck’s talent unfold on stage with the band is a magical thing. He's always been a piano and harmonica man from an early age and also a natural on the drums since he played his first show with his parents at a backyard festival in New Orleans at age 3. Buck is a great dancer too so you'll probably see him bust a move or two during the Yogoman shows. Prepare to be captivated by this young man because he'll have your heart on a string by the end of each show.

This Weekend: Spokane, Idaho, and Twisp!

Yogoman Burning Band is heading east for the weekend and we're ready to light up Spokane, Sagle Idaho, and Twisp for those ready to dance!

SPOKANE: The last and first time we played Spokane we played the Baby Bar and it was a fun experience, via the friendly staff, with a couple of out of town bands from Portland who also rocked the joint.  For our second visit to Spokane we are on solo at the Blue Spark and excited to connect with some new folks and friends of friends (there are a lot of Spokane to Bellingham transplants).

SAGLE, IDAHO: This is our second year playing the Remembering Jerry Festival at the Eureka Center in Sagle, Idaho.  I'm not sure why we were initially selected to play the festival last year, being that we don't sound anything like Jerry Garcia's music or the Grateful Dead, but it was a blast, we rocked some people out in the country surrounded by beautiful woods, played some games, ate some great food, and met some sweet folks.  Here's a video of us working our song "Coco Lopez" in this little cabin/house that was later in the night a chill down room, it shows you a little lay of the land, and Thomas' mohawk, which is nice!

TWISP:  We've yet to have a blow out show in Twisp, WA at the famous Twisp River Pub, and it's probably our fault for only playing there once a year and not reappearing sooner, BUT- I have a feeling this is going to be the exception.  Aaron the booker, owner (i believe) and GM, of the place is a super sweet guy that always treats bands well and makes us feel at home. TRP serves great food, beer, wine and mixed drinks, with a super friendly staff.  We are grateful that they are having us back and hope the word spreads well around town that Yogoman Burning Band is coming to the sweet town of Twisp to help them get their dance on, which they so deserve.  The last time we played TRP, there was a crew fresh off the job of firejumpers; and how appropo is that with the Burning Band?

For more info on the shows and to see the rest of our calendar see the SHOWS/EVENTS/PARTIES section of our website.  Love to all and have a good day and night!
